Merry, Merry Christmas!
I’m lifting up pillow cushions looking for pennies and quarters to finish my Christmas shopping. I’ve thrown away the whole equality in gifts idea, I’m really showing some favoritism this Christmas!
My bike tire is flat, I’m walking around in mocs and my feet are killing me. But I persue because of my undying desire to bless some very special people.
This morning I woke up at 7:00 to the sound of Amy’s voice on my cell phone. It was great. She came around the corner softly and her headlights shine on my face or was it her glowing smile. Maybe both? She looked up at me, currently dressed in my tacky pajamas consisting of athletic shorts a white tee and mallcore flip flops. My hand reached out to her and she filled it with a CD. After which greeting her, “What’s this?”
She smile and said in her unusual peppy morning tone, “Look! Just look at it.” I realized she had bought my the “Follow the Dove EP” by Castledoor. I was ex-tat-ic. And not only that, She brought me a extra large piece of her mom’s recently baked cheesecake.
As rushed as we were I hugged her neck, said how thankful I was for my gift and more importantly for the one who brought it to me. She sat back down in her seat and slid underneath the steering wheel, shut the door and watched me as I carried my cheescake and CD back to the front door in much contentment. I smile back at her several times. (She returned each one with a larger.) Thenl, just before driving off, she blew me a kiss. You might think this sounds dumb. But a……. I don’t care.
I sat down and ate my newly discovered cheescake and listened to the Birds and the Fleas. I spent some time with God, read the Word a bit and headed out the door. Since, I’ve been waling all around Macclenny, shopping as much as I can before work tonight.
I’ve been so busy lately but I feel unusually inspired to write, music that is, so come the new year I should be making a couple good ones.
If I don’t blog until Christmas, Have a Merry one.
God Bless,
Jeremy
